We need help for our office!

Since 1998 we run the organisation "Help the poor and needy e.V.", to help the poorest in Gambia.

Meanwhile also quite successful.

We could make it possible for many children to go to school, for widows providing themselves and their children.

We built a boat to create jobs and to help the population to get more fish.

We help for self-help, but we also try to make the celebrations dignified for the poor people, so that they have a good meal.

For the victim celebration (aid) we are able to give a sheep for very poor families since years now. The fathers of these families could never buy a sheep for their family before.

Our latest project, the construction of an elementary school/kindergarden, can start as soon as we get the money to build the first neighbouring buildings like administration, store and watchman´s house. 

All of this seems to end because we can´t afford the costs of administration anymore.

We pay for

- project manager and secretary ( this is an order also that the office must be filled to the opening hours )

- telephone

- electricity

- internet

- costs for repair ( during the rainy season the roof wasn´t thick and this caused a damage in the office )

- rental fee ( since about 17 years the office in our premises is free of rental fee )

- costs of transportation for the workers; the goods that we bring; the poor who come to the office and the visits to our projects.

All this costs about 300€ per month. From regular donations - without details to a special projects - (free disposal ) we have only 50€ per month. We can carry this difference hardly, that´s why we ask you for help.

If some of you could take the decision to help us by donating 5 or 10€ per month, we could continue our work.
